Meaning to my life
Or my name anyway. As Mike likes to point out, yes I'm very aware that my name wasn't a name until JM Barrie wrote Peter Pan but when spelt with an i (as most people here do anyway, I've given up correcting them) it means a person who goes in Kikuyu which is one of Kenyas tribal languages. in anouther, Luo I think but ccan't remember it means your song. So my name means music and travelling, which I think suits me at least for now. So thank you for al the reminders Mike but actually my name has a lot of meaning-I like to think that somehow my parents knew all of this when they chose it for me. Though I'm pretty sure that they didn't.

what the heck is this? No mention at all of africa OR motorbikes, and I don't recall ever lecturing you on the origins of your name.
e-karate kick! I desire more adventures to read, possibly with a sidekick this time.
wendi...
franglais: parfait!
I like the idea of sitting on a bag of charcoal in the rain...
somewhat poetic...
It is not true that Wendy as name was invented by Peter Pan. Gwendoline's have been shortened to Wendy for a long time before that.
Whatever it means and wherever it comes from, it is YOUR name, and it is pretty name, and it suits you

wendy, you blogged about me! i'm truly touched, i really am.
in other news, the rabble return from EP today...
I will tell them you said that - I will put a Stop Press in the magazine, Mike C says everyone who went to EP is rabble
Liz
well we are a rabble. Have you heard us? I mean we ain't exacty queit now are we!!!!
Wendy, we found a bus with your name on it! So i have decided that you were with us at EP in some strange way.
Kibbutz was ok. We had 3 people that stayed with us and then those who had already been heard of by GH's e.g. harriet. They were all really nice and it was a good laugh.
I was a good girl and to follow the tradition of EP i went and bought myself rock which by definition is SUGAR! YUM! So to add to the highness i had sugar. NOt that people would say i need anymore energy than i already have but hey. It's all fun.
The weather wasn't exactly fab but it could have rained more so wasn't bad. The kibbutz was only 10 min walk from the emerging culture venue which makes it about a 20 min walk to get to the main so that was good. The only down side being that it's got hills and steps and slopes and they're not so nice when out of energy.
FOund a really nice and cheap bakery so was sorted for food for the week.
It was overall a really good time that was well needed.
You never ever make plans by now do you?! What do you send your days doing?Thank you for telling me what the sea is like there. I do hope we do not have a tomato for a wendy.
Love you lots. Praying for you.
Little sarah x x x
p.s. hey mike!
Wendoleena!!!!
Yes the rabble (aka Great Heights) have returned from EP this avo. Russ and I went over for the weekend, very strange as we went to the Torquay one a few weeks ago (they had an earlier one due to school holidays down there...supposedly) which I spent with Tomothy, Dave Howie, Alex, Han and Zoe. Both were fun. NB Sarah + sugar= MADNESS. NB Great Heights.......MAD!!!! Yet Russ and I miss leading the group......hmmmm...correction, Russ and I are mad!!!!
Glad your Ok, This Dave sounds nice.... Describe him for us.... is he young, dark and handsome?
Just in case you have forgotten I am actually still your pastroal visiter so if you need anything please let me know. If you get sick out there, then tough coz I cant come to visit you but if theres anything you need me for Im here!!! ;-)
Love you
Ellie
xxxxxxx
monkhouses for swim caps, you say?
sounds like a ridiculously wonderful plan thank you liz...
and whilst I'm there, I can pick up a school uniform and a badminton racket!
what a wonderful place it is!
depending on which Tom you are you can pick up some Lacrosse stuff for your brother as well. Dont knock Monkhouses, when we were changing the school uniform they were brilliant, and they even did me an enormous size of school sweatshirt so I could wear on the first day of term, all the little kids thought it was amazing to see a big adult lady in a school uniform.
But yes, I am sure they will sell you a swim cap Tom.
Liz
wrong tom i think, however that notice in the magazine sounds good!
you just want to be famous don't you mike!
Back from EP. Shattered. Doing C**rsew*rk. Longing to be doing what you are. This sucks.
Have fun,
Love and Prayers,
Susie
Hi Wendy - what an absolutely wonderful name (being 50% of the people who chose it, I may be slightly biased). I have to say that when I attempt to describe my children to friends and colleagues, even though I rave equally about t'other one, It usually comes down to something like - there is only one word to describe Wendy, and that's WENDY! I'm sure everybody who knows you fully understands what I'm saying.
Exciting news - I probably wouldn't have thought to mention it until I read Little Sarah's sugar comment - Lakeland now sell Kendal Mint Cake in packs of one white and one brown. Would you like me to eat some and send my energy over to you Wendy? Together with the chocolate coated liquorice (yes, you read me right - don't scoff until you've scoffed some), that shop is definitely worth visiting.
Take care, Wendy - you are very special - I didn't realise you were special to quite so many people until this blog started.
Lots of love from Mum xxx
wendy does it matter what your name means? However what it means does suit you rather well.
Take care
I'm not knocking Monkhouses at all! Indeed, I remember getting my primary school uniform from there "back in the day", and a badminton racket! I will make my way there next time I return to Cheadle Hulme to purchase my swim cap, so I can begin the long and dangerous voyage to that far-off land that our beloved Wendoline is enjoying so...
Oh. My. Life.
I urge you all to visit this website to discover the true joys of dancing French penguins:
