Welcome, welcome, sorry about the mess

So this is my blog, it's mainly about Africa and the fact that I'm going there, but it'll probably go on many a tangent before I'm through. Enjoy reading about my adventures, I know I'll enjoy having them.

The most sensible thing I ever did

Was to keep the plastic cutlery that came with my meal on the plane. The knife is sharp enough to peel carrots but dull enough to double as a nail file. If it's possible I think I am in love with a plastic knife.
Last night-and the rest of the week I expect-I'm living on a diet of anything I can eat without cooking, so I'm being spectacularly healty: Tomatoes, carrots, bannanas and bread.
Dad-as far as my change in accent is concerned I have no defence. I can't say I've picked it up from anyone because I havn't. I'm going to be on my own for a while now so whatever accent I come back with will be totally Wendy, which is a rather scary prospect. No offence but your accent sounded really common. I'm going to try to fing somewhere to make an international call, probably to Sharon beacause I'm assuming she'll be in and will answer whereas ringing mobiles when people are at work isn't that reliable.
I will text later though when I've charged my phone a little.
After all that I'm going to explore the waterfall, it's 72feet and very noisy. It's right next to the campsite! Was strange to hear it thundering all through the night-with a drought on the north of the country you'd expect that they'd turn it off when no-one was looking.

Wendy, Wendy, Wendy, you are loved.
And a painting of green squares that you once did adorns my ceiling.
Love, peace and respect ma homegirl!

((((((((((((((Wendy))))))))))))))) I am so glad you have blogged today, so you know how much we all love you and are holding you in prayer. Stay there for a little while, in this camp, which sounds a pretty nice sort of place. Some time out, to be with Wendy and with God.

Love hugs and prayers

Thrilled to read todays entry. hope that means you have read all your comments and know how much we are all thinking of you. Apart from the fact that I hate camping how wonderful to sleep near a waterfall.

Had a thought last night. Is there a British consulate nearby. They might be able to help with advice on travelling through the different countries should you need any.

Hope I will be getting a text. I'm just plain greedy.

Lots of love and hugs

wendy!!!!!!!!!!!!! This cool to hear from you again today. The waterfall sounds cool. Hmmmm maybe it will turn off in it's own time, there is far more water in the whole world than we can ever get our heads round yet it all seems to be in the wrong places. huh? It'll make snese to someone, i'm sure if that someone is only god then thats a rather good someone. Glad your eating well. Keep your strenght up and take time out with god. Listening to him is such a good thing to. Hope you can hear him through the waterfall-hehe :-)
Love you lots

Glad you're living up to your promise to Sarah about weighing less than her when you get back, I think she's starting to believe it too. Love you loads and try to keep us informed. Does the waterfall make you get up to wee 3 or 4 times a night. he he. Are there no chocolate shops nearby.

I was going to say the same about Rwanda Wendy - there is trouble there at present and it isnt a safe place for westerners - ANY westerners. Foreign office have alist of places not to visit, and Rwanda is one of them - not sure about Malawi.

Still praying for you. And Anthony will too - I gave him a brief update, he says you are very adaptable and very bright and very resilient - which of course you are, but also says to take care and be careful who you trust.

I've never fallen in love with a piece of cutlery before, but I'll surely give it a try after reading this heartwarming tale of romance, between one god fearing lady and her plastic pal.

"wendy does cutlery"

Bad call on having a campsite near a waterfall. The slightest trickle and you'll be up all night back and forth to the bathroom, or watering hole, or whatever the analogy is in kenya.

Wendy - a thought has occured to me. I know you think I go on about the mag, but there is something else I go on about even more - drive my family crazy. But, when you are travelling around Africa, going to whichever country you are going to next, I am guessing you will be going by bus, or perhaps train, and the journey will be hours or even days long. PLEASE on such journeys wear the flight socks. The risk isnt from flight per se it is from being sat in one position for a long time - and buses and trains in big countries tend to involve that - and move around as well, and regularly wiggle your toes and clench and unclench your calf muscles.

This is a real biggie, a friend of mine had a problem with DVT after a bus journey in India, otherwise young and healthy.

Sorry to nag, but wasnt sure if you knew this,

love hugs and prayers
