Welcome, welcome, sorry about the mess

So this is my blog, it's mainly about Africa and the fact that I'm going there, but it'll probably go on many a tangent before I'm through. Enjoy reading about my adventures, I know I'll enjoy having them.

Closer to home.

Tuesday was the closest tom home I've been since February, 47 miles north of the equator. There are two Lakes: Baringo and Bogoria. Bogoria has hot springs which just shoot up and are amazingly cool. We saw an ostrich there to, we tried to get it to run away so we could collect some of its fethers that were lying on the ground but it just sat there hissing at us. Probably shouldn't have been throwing rocks at it really.
Then we went to Baringo and went on a boat ride. There were crocodiles and hippos. Samuel was terriffied of the crocodiles. And we bought some very fresh fish-straight from the fishermen who were stood in the water with the crocodiles and the hippos. Saw fish eagles as well, they're so beautiful. They've brown bodies but white heads and yellow necks.
I tried to make trifle this week but it all went a bit wrong. The stuff that passes for custard here is strange powder that the instand you ann it to milk it forms a bright yellow solid.
'tis all good. Have a dance practice this afternoon- Even tough I nearly killed myself yesterday doing handstands-havn't sone one for years.

How can hot springs be cool? Wendy, I can't believe that you really threw rocks - please tell me you are fibbing - I don't think you even ran at the pigeons in Merseyway when you were little! What happened to that sweet child?

Love Mum

Well I have seen a Robin and a Pidgeon today and TWO Sparrows in the garden. But no it does not compare even written in capital letters. So Samuel was scared of the crocodiles but what about you? Oh I almost forgot AND I have seen masses and masses and masses of frogspawn and frogs and I mean masses as well. Just like baby crocodiles really.

Anyway have you received any post yet from the depths of Yorkshire. Don't get too excited - not a cream egg of bit of chocolate in sight. Mind you now I know you had to resort to chocolate then you never know.

You made trifle - I made almond and lemon cake, lemon curd and lemon tagliatelle chicken. That is easy if you want the recipe.

Bye for now from a dull and damp Yorkshire.
Lots of love

eagles are birds, not fish.

throwing rocks? I can't preach here because I used to enjoy hitting ants with a claw hammer, which is almost as bad.

Note to Liz

Would there be any chance of me being sent a copy of any magazines with Wendy's entries to her Cheadle Hulme address please? I'd be happy to pay for the mag and postage. Thankyou (hopefully).

Amanda
