Welcome, welcome, sorry about the mess

So this is my blog, it's mainly about Africa and the fact that I'm going there, but it'll probably go on many a tangent before I'm through. Enjoy reading about my adventures, I know I'll enjoy having them.

Hold all cream eggs

I'm seriously trying to cut down on sugar. I figure if I can go a few months without biscuits, sweets atc then I wont want them as much when I get back. Not sure if it'll actualoy work but it's a good theory to work from.
Yes I am doing some work whilst I'm here. I'm painting banners and teaching guitar and all sorts of silly things. I'm teaching french too which hurts my head because I havn't done French for three years.
'Tis all good though- if my memory serves me correctly (which it probably doesn't) it's Samuals birthday tomorrow. I think.
Not eating sugar sucks, there's only so much satisfaction you can get from bran flakes. Believe me it's very limited.

There are sugar highs and there are god highs, the fact that they tend to both happen at easter people is irrelevant! Wendy, be gald that you have got food! Why is it that people always seem to give up foodness at lent. What about other things as well?I'm sure bran flakes can't be that bad. Not that i know. Maybe i should try them beofre i say that. Wendy, fancy teaching me french?! I'm sure your a good teacher and other languages always make your head hurt. You must know that one by now!

Sugar isnt bad. It is bad for ME if I have too much of it because I have diabetes. But it is okay for you in moderation. Enjoy the food out there, and try all of it, and have treats of sugary things if ou like sugary things. Personally I loath and detest creme eggs, but used to love them, but since being diabetic and not eating that stuff, they are too sweet for me.

actually, bran flakes are okay. prefer them to cornflakes, but prefer porridge.

But God gave us sugar just like he gave us other foods. TO ENJOY. Sugar isnt sinful. God gave us the bodies we have for a reason, whether we are dainty and petite, like Sarah, who has heard this lecture before, or tall and elegant like you, and big like me. We are the size we are for a reason only God knows. And mostly we cant change that. (most people who go on diets to lose weight end up fatter than when they started). We need to love and cherish and take care of the body God has given us. which doesnt mean depriving ourselves of cream eggs, or anything else. Heck I sound like a nag!!!!!

I could say more, butnot on the blog, we will meet for coffee when you get back. And I promise not to nag.

Sarah - how is the coursework? helen has some due in today and she is not in college because she is finishing it!

Wendy - if you have only just learnt guitar and are now teaching it, you are doing great! When teaching French do remember to tell you little pupils the correct way to say how hot the weather is. as in Il fait not Je suis. been there, done that, alarmed a lift full of French people

lots of love and prayers, God is giving you some wonderful experiences

Hallo Wendy
Thought I would tell you about a little treat I enjoyed but we would not be able to send you one. However when you get back if you have not got rid of your sweet tooth by then.

There was a knock at my door - my friend Susan - with a Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Lolly. Mmmmmmmm.

It looks like your Guitar making has come on in leaps and bounds so I shall start to look for Einaudi sheet music.

Continue to enjoy. lots of love. x x

Hi Wendy - quick update. Sarah HAS gone skiing - they booked a resort (Glen Coe I think) at the last minute which wasn't as windy as it is lower down. Update at 11.10 last night "woo hoo we've hit the snow".*

Love Mum

dude, I thought tate & lyle gave us sugar?

No lesalanos - God gave us sugar, tate and lyle just refine it and sell it to us in little bags. it is apparently best when dripped out of the sugar cane into freshly squeezed lime juice, according to my hubbie anyway

I LOVE all your comments. Sugar cane is vile. I'm using water colours but it went wrong because they all blended together when I didn't want them to. Now instead of a yellow sun on blue sky I have a sort of tie dye green mess.
Not very good
