The best laid plans and all that
I've found a great church in Kisumu who're holding an Easter People type conferency thing from 2nd-8th April so I'm going to stick around for that. It looks interesting, it'll be an experience and (and this is the best bit) it's less than seven quid for the week including accomodation. Okay so it's just a church hall floor but when did that ever put me off. Evening service starts in a few minutes, just thought I'd blog whilst I was passing.
I'm still planning to do the whole Nairobi/Mombassa/Lushoto beachy thingy, I'm just putting it back for two weeks. I'll find something to occupy me until the conference starts-hopefully the church will yield some contacts for me. 'Tis all good and dandy (could do with figuring out the stone age looking shower contraption though)
And Dad, you'd definately rather I were there, I'd much rather you were here. For the camping anyway, I don't think Christian conferences are really your thing.

wow thats cheap! Church hall floor sounds good to me. There are fantistic god given gifts those things are! I know i've slept on them several times.
Showers are a good thing. So we humans have problems trying to work out modern technology as well as stone age looking technology. Huh? That makes sense.
Stay safe and keep us updated. hope the evening service is good.
Love you lots sarah
Oh Wendy - you are so resilient! I'm coming round to this new plan of yours now, even though I was so fearful at first. Keep us posted and keep safe and keep enjoying your time in Africa.
With love from your very proud Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A poem for Wendy, by Tom:
We
Enjoy
Nice
Dramatic
Yodelling
After being a bit horror struck at developments last Monday - oh me of little faith - I can now see how God is working in all this, giving you opportunities and experiences, and how He has this all planned out. This EP things sounds good, Dave told us about it in church last night, and as you say it will be a great way to meet Christian contacts. I am excited for you!
Tom - that is an acrostic not poem. It is a good acrostic, but it isnt a poem. When do you go to Haifa?
Sarah B - please will you email me your new email addy - my email addy is in the church mag.
Wendy - I am proud to know you - you are an inspriation in dealing with life in a Godly when it goes very very pearshaped. I am 30 years older than you and I couldnt have handled this as well as you have. Sorry to get sloppy, but I think people should say what they think.
love hugs and prayers

Ah Tom's poem/Acrostic! I look forward to the yodelling could be interesting.
Glad you are managing to keep up with the blog - it is good to keep track of you although I never had doubts you would sort things out and be off gallivanting. My text to you only cost 10p so I hope it didn't cost you anything.
Take care much love and hugs

i'll email you soon liz.
Thanks wendy if you prayed for me at the doctors, now dicoved whats wrong. Sorry i can't spell it so will tell you later.
What ever got you interested in camping and my word it is a good job that you are otherwise this whole trip now would be very little fun!
Love you lots

sarah B - is it called Raynauds syndrome
I like Tom's poem too, only commented about the acrostic bit - I am very bored being off work sick and after hand surgery have nothing I can much do and if I wouldnt hurt the hand I would actually be climbing up the walls with boredom. cant even be on computer for longer than 15 minutes at a time.
Liz
It is a poem in an acrostic form, of course. After all, who can define a poem?
I am glad you have all taken to it, as I felt it summed up the relationship between Wendy and me quite well.
However, Liz P (whoever you may be...), where on earth is Haifa?
Much love, joy and ferocious otters!
no it is not that, tis a thyroid thing. think i've spelt it right.
I was guessing you are a particular Tom. Perhaps you are different Tom, or else you are pretending to be a different Tom. I am Liz Parkinson, I go to the same church as Wendy, but I am old, and I used to sit next to Wendy in GCSE Latin last year (even tho I am old I did GCSE Latin, now I am doing Medieval Latin)
Sarah B - that is indeed the correct spelling of thyroid. I am glad you know what is the matter and that they can give you something - have you too much or not enough thyroid stuff. If it linked to thyroid production, then check when you get your medication, you may be entitled to free prescriptions forever.
Wendy - sorry for hijacking your blog again :-(
Liz P
I think I am a different Tom, my friend. Wendy and I have a long history and she is, in fact, my mother (GCSE Drama... oh the shame!) But you did GCSE Latin at Ridge? Perhaps I would recognise you as I passed two years there having adventure after adventure...
I probably invigilated your exams! You are a different Tom, the one I thought you were went to Aquinas. I am hard to miss, wear loud clothes, and am a large person generally. Reddish/coppery hair - out of a bottle of course.
Wendy - do I know Tom?
Liz P
If Haifa in Isarael? Is it where my Tom is going?
EP thing sounds like it could be fun.
More fun than trying to fill in gaps on my composition...
Love and prayers,
Rememer the three things
Susie
P.S. Me and Chris are going the lanuch of the Big Issue tonight.
Susie - I was confused and thought the Tom on here was your Tom, yes Haifa is in Israel, my Lynne went to Russia with Agape, same organisation as Tom is going to Haifa with.
Confused is easy for me, I am old, and I am on drugs - legal ones of course, but lots of them for pain, so dont think well at present.
Wendy - hijacked your blog again, sorry. Anthony says Hi
Liz
Ah, I think I remember you...
EP? Those are the initials of my Italian tutor...
Not that you really need to know that...
Though it may come up in a pub quiz one day...
Hmm... I would call this an ellipsis overdose...
Who are you people, are you all mad?
Mostly, yes!
ANN Other
did you see the eclipse - isnt God clever
Liz
Wendy, do you think that we are all mad or how would you describe the group of us who post on here?
hope your ok.
Love you lots sarah x x x
Little Sarah, whoever you may be:
Although my name is not Wendy, I am going to answer your question anyway...
Yes, I think all of us who post here are somewhat crazy, but that's what puts the fun into life.
N'est-ce pas?
C'est vrai, c'est vrai!
I am not allowed to speak in foreigh languages because I get things wrong and say really really rude things by mistake. That is the great advantage of learning Latin and Anglosaxon - I dont have to speak them.
I am crazy, cant speak for others, but crazy is a good thing to be, we need to keep a sense of fun in life. Little Sarah is Sarah B and she is Wendy's friend from church. I call her Sarah B because I prefer not to define people by their size (Sarah is petite and dainty) - I am a fat person and would object to being called Fat Liz. Not because I think fat it bad, which I dont, anymore than I think little is bad, but because I am Liz and that is good. Sarah has had this conversation from me.
Wendy - how are you getting on, I am still praying for you, but I am not worried about you anymore because God is looking after you great, and you are doing great
I take nothing on the blog to mean that you are having such a fantastic time you havent had chance to go to the internet cafe
Liz P
Tom's goiung to Isreal?! When did that happen-though I can hardly point the finger at other people for having adventures without notifying me, when/why etc etc.
In the summer for three weeks with Agape
Liz
i only found out about tom and his adventures on sunday when he said a little bit about ti in the service. Brave lad! No wendy, you can't point the finger but your having a massive experience for yourself so no wanting to be tom if were!
ewww who'd want to be Tom, he's a smelly boy
